Our Mission

Since 1992, the Big Island Academy has provided massage trainig programs for state and national certification. In 2003, Our President/Director Dr. Jo Maynard Ph.D. foundly known of as "Dr. Jo" moved the training program forward by creating an approved curriculum and becoming the only Vocational Trade School for massage in East Hawaii, on the Big Island. In a Universal Arena of healing, learning and Aloha, our graduates leave empowered with superior skills taught in an environment that fosters the aloha spirit, personal growth, and healing for body, mind, and spirit. We also offer classes and workshops for continuing education (CEU's).

Our Home

We are located on the East (windward) side of the largest and southernmost of the Hawaiian Islands at scenic Hilo Bay, at the foot of Mauna Kea. It is known as the "healing island". The Big Island is also called "Hawaii", not to be confused with all the Islands that make up the State of Hawaii.
